wow i just remembered how sad and broken bilbo must’ve been for months even years after he left erebor and thorin behind. how he must’ve cried himself to sleep so many times only to wake up the next day and force a smile on his face when he went grocery shopping and how his mask must’ve crumbled as soon as he was safely inside his hobbit hole again because everytime he went inside it all just seemed so quiet and empty without 13 dwarves sitting at his table
